Portrait of Abby Stamelman Hocky

Welcome

Welcome to Insights LLC. I am devoting this season of my professional life to working with individuals and organizational leaders seeking to uncover, recover and discover strength and possibility. Whether in moments of transition, challenge or thriving, setting aside time to step back and reflect can be your greatest asset.

I look forward to accompanying you on your journey, whether through leadership consulting or through the practice of spiritual direction. Building on decades of life-giving work and organizational leadership in Jewish communal and interfaith settings, I am excited to focus on cultivating and strengthening the internal resources that unleash our potential.

Spiritual Accompaniment

(Spiritual Direction) — The fullness of life calls for our attention and presence on multiple fronts. How do we bring intention to the ways our singular and unique life unfolds in everyday moments? How do we stay grounded in our core values in the midst of challenge? What practices do we have that nurture our spirit?

Spiritual Accompaniment

Whatever your spiritual or religious expression, your journey has likely taken twists and turns, rich with questions, doubts, and experiences of awe, wonder and mystery. Inviting a practice of Spiritual Accompaniment offers the opportunity for soulful exploration that can awaken new awareness of the resources available in the spiritual dimension of your life.

Spiritual Directors meet about once a month with individuals and/or groups for reflection and conversation that is both sacred and confidential. Sessions can be in person or on a virtual platform.

It is my privilege to work with people who are…

  • In interfaith relationships, who find it valuable to explore what practices or traditions are important to hold onto and what is challenging to let go of;
  • Elders, with many life stories and relationships to reflect upon, treasure, reconcile and/or heal;
  • In moments of transition or struggle, seeking to anchor themselves and explore paths to inner strength and resilience;
  • Interested in spiritual accompaniment for any reason; or
  • Interested in participating in a small group for spiritual reflection. The monthly or semi-monthly schedule and location will be formed around interested participants.

Fees

Fees for hour-long individual sessions or ninety-minute group sessions are offered on a sliding scale. Please reach out for a free introductory and exploratory conversation.

Leadership & Organizational Consulting

Leading organizations to address the broad needs of our community is sacred work. Investing in the backbone of organizational life — Board and professional leadership — can be your best investment. Devoting reflective time and resources to the most critical areas of need can pay off in compounded ways.

Leadership & Organizational Consulting

I would love to partner with you to explore strategies for…

  • Board and leadership development. Recruiting and fostering strong Board leadership is critical to organizational excellence and integrity. What skills and perspectives are needed to be in tune with your constituents and advance your organization’s unique work? What are the characteristics of exceptional Board members who can maintain values-based decision making and mission alignment? Open and honest Board relationships and communication are critical components of organizational management and may need special attention.
  • Building a first-rate professional team. Personnel is the greatest asset of an organization. Recruiting the right people and investing in your team will assure that you carry out your mission with integrity and vitality. At times consultation on sticky personnel issues is needed.
  • Organizational partnership and collaboration. Cultivating strong partnerships with shared understanding and a clear division of responsibility can be challenging. Collaborative models can enhance collective impact and make good use of resources, and can require special leadership skills.
  • Expanded revenue streams and expense reduction through resource-sharing. There is great benefit to assessing your resource development capacity and strategies with a goal of generating mission-aligned ideas for multiple revenue streams. Discovering creative ways to share overhead expenses, especially in hybrid work environments, can free up resources needed to advance your core mission.
  • Engaging community members in vibrant religious and spiritual life. There could not be a better time for spiritual communities to experiment with new ways to meet the increased desire for community, connection and belonging.

Fees

An hourly or project-based fee will be determined once the scope of the consultation is defined. Please reach out for a free introductory and exploratory conversation.
